Reading the columns
Each column is one day’s snow at this elevation, with its number above it. Blue is 1″, teal 2″ to 6″, and from 7″ the color runs from light orange to brown at 30″ and more.
Every chart uses the same scale, so resorts compare at a glance. It grows more slowly for big days, so a 30″ day still fits and a 1″ day still shows; the number on each column is the amount.
On home, each bracket is the most likely total for its 5 days. It need not match the days added up. A dash means no total yet.
On a resort, days before today are what fell, measured by NOAA, drawn lighter. Today and the days after are our forecast.
On a resort, tap a day for its likely range, temperatures, wind and snow level, its water and how many inches of snow each inch of water makes, and its snow through the day.

How we score a snow day
A snow day is one where at least 1″ fell, or where a forecast said it would. We score the forecast from the day before.
Close means within 2″ or 30% of what fell, whichever is larger.
What fell is the NOAA NOHRSC National Snowfall Analysis, 24 h ending 12:00 UTC. Gridded snowfall (4 km) from radar and gauge precipitation, adjusted to observer snowfall reports. Not resort-reported. Each 4 km cell averages the slope, so every resort is scored at its point nearest the cell's mean elevation.
We have stored our forecasts since Oct 26. Earlier days are replays: Predicts 1.1 run again on those days.
Last snow day: we were close
Scored at the base, 577 ft, against NOAA’s snowfall analysis.
